I write stories. I sing them too. And I am always rooting for us.

It is impossible for the nuance and particularity of our humanity to be fully displayed online. How vast and jagged we can be; how dazzling. And yet, I was hoping to find a place on the internet where I could share some things without the expectation to say something about everything—resisting the performance of awakeness.

I am a songwriter, writer, and storyteller. My music can be found on most streaming platforms.

I have written articles that appear on Sojourners, CNN, The Tennessean, and Harper's Bazaar.

I am committed to working collectively toward the healing of Black people through the healing of relationships. I believe that this can look like caring for folks in abundant & intentional ways. I believe that this can look like addressing the oppression and relational-scarcity that touches us all in brutal & life-denying ways. And I believe that it is vital.

I show up hoping, trying, curious, loving, longing, learning & unlearning in community.

I thank you for being here!

with warmth & peace,

Courtney
